Nijjor Manush focuses its work on the following 2 aims:

Radical Histories and Critical Education – sharing and celebrating the important contributions the diaspora have made in resisting oppression and injustice in Bangladesh and elsewhere.

Campaigning and Critical Interventions – organising the diaspora community around issues both domestically and internationally, and matters uniquely affecting them.

Our campaign was launched in 2020 to stop the Truman Brewery building an ugly shopping mall, but now the Brewery wants to build massive office blocks across the site as well, we need to challenge this too.

The ‘South Asians for Palestine’ coalition draws together groups that are South Asian-led in Britain in solidarity with the Palestine national liberation struggle against apartheid, settler colonialism and national oppression.

Our use of ‘South Asian’ is as a shorthand for politics rather than simply a place: the aim of the coalition is to recover the strand of anticolonial solidarity with Palestine that was once strong across the Third World.
