From resistance to rebellion: South Asian internationalism then & now is a free political education programme that explores international solidarity – particularly South Asian histories.

This programme has been designed for individuals who are interested in learning and applying lessons on anti-colonial and international organising. They may already be familiar or curious about topics such as Asian youth organising, Bangladesh liberation war and neo-fascism. This programme will delve into these topics, highlighting lessons that can then be applied to organising today.

The programme will be limited to around 30 participants who will be selected after the application deadline has closed.

There will be 6 closed sessions and two public events as part of this programme.

Materials for each session will be shared beforehand, including further reading materials. Each session will be a 2 hour interactive session.

There are six private classroom based session and two public discussion events for this programme. The private sessions will take you on a journey to explore South Asian Internationalism – looking at what was occurring both in Britain and South Asian from the 60s to modern day. We will uncover what challenges Internationalism has faced and why this has caused the decline of third-wordism. We will end by considering how these lessons can be applied to reinvigorate South Asian Internationalism today.

Please note: registrants are expected to attend all sessions.

Locations will take place within Tower Hamlets and will be accessible. Exact location is to be determined.
